What are the other benefits? It's better for your joints (knees, ankles) then running outside because the surface is flat. I won't review any equipment that will help you tone your stomach muscles because it's not so important and there are too many of them available. In fact for stomach crunches and ab workout no additional equipment is neccesary. You can do most of those exercises without complicated machines. If you really need them it's better to go to gym unless you have a lot of space in your apartment and you can afford to buy them. I would rather focus on buying some cardio exercises machines because they are better not only for your stomach but for your overall health.
