Start to exercise
Do some Cardio exercises at least 3 times a week for minimum 30 minutes. Running, swimming or bike riding are great example of Cardio exercises. Thos kind of exercises are increasing metabolism during the workout. But recent researches have shown that the increased metabolism is maintained for a period of time after workout. Don't forget to change type of exercises and intensity level from time to time. It's because our bodies have the ability to quickly adapt to the same effort.
Do also some power training on the gym for 2 days a week. Exercises on gym will increase your metabolism permamently. Why? Because they build the muscles and muscles require much more energy, when you are not exercising, then fat. That's why if you have more muscles you will have better metabolism.
Change your eating habits
When it comes to eating you can do several things. Eat at least 1200 calories a day. You metabolism depends on how many calories you eat. If you decrease the amount of daily calories too much you body will automatically decrease your metabolism. It will do that to save the energy that is required for living. Eat more often - instead of eating only 3 main dishes, eat more often let's say 5,6 times a day. Human body works hard during digestion processes and it requires some energy to do that. Try to plan your meals so eat 3 main dishes and 3 small snacks between them. Try to eat much less during supper then what you eat earlier. Don't make longer breaks then 4 hours between the meals.
Eat breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day. It gives you the strenght for the first part of the day which usually is the most difficult. It's the time you spend at work or at school and you require lot of energy doing that. Eating breakfast will speed up your metabolism for the rest of the day. But remember not to eat too much on the breakfast because it will ruin your diet.
Decrease the amount of fat and carbohydrates you eat. Instead try to eat more protein which burns fat while being burned. Don't forget about vegatables which have lot of fibre. Fibre will fill your stomach and you won't feel hunger for a while. While trying to increase your metabolism you should mainly eat vegetables, thin meat like chicken and fish. You should drop aclohol and sweets but more importantly food that is full of fat like - butter, fat meat.
Try to sleep more
People that sleep less tend to have uncontrolled attacks of hunger and they eat much more they really need. Additional problem comes from hormones especially cortizol which is a stress hormone.
Drink more water
Drinking water can speed up the tempo in which your body burns calories. Two glasses of mineral water before the main meal can speed up metabolism up to 30%. Additionaly water hydrates our body, decreases the appetite, cleans up our body from toxines. Try to eat up to 2l of water a day. If you exercise a lot you can drink much more.
Forget about alcohol
Alcohol is burned by our body first. That means that all the energy from what we ate is stored in a form of fat in our body. Alcohol itself has lot of calories so you can easily move over your daily level of calories. If you really want alcohol think about glass of red wine. It will be good for your heart and your metabolism will not be affected by much.
